Councillor Agnes Hoveland
Agnes Hoveland is a long time resident of Camrose, alumna of Camrose Lutheran College (University of Alberta, Augustana Faculty) and the University of Alberta Hospital School of Nursing. Retiring in 2007 following an extensive and varied career as a registered nurse in the Camrose area, she ended her professional career as coordinator of Alberta's first Community Cancer Centre of the then Alberta Cancer Board at St. Mary's Hospital.
Agnes was the 2004 recipient of the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta Vogel Award for service to the Provincial Council and 2007 Nursing Excellence Award, St. Mary's Hospital, Camrose.
She has served on the University of Alberta Board of Governors and University Senate, the Chester Ronning Centre Advisory Committee, Pro Coro Canada Board of Directors, and the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta Provincial Council. Is presently a member of Covenant Health, St. Mary's Hospital, Community and Foundation Boards. Is a member of Camrose Daybreak Rotary Club, co-founder and past chair of the Grateful Grannies, a member group of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, Stephen Lewis Foundation.
Active in church activities, a book club member, enjoys art, music and golfing, Agnes and her husband, James, have 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter.
