Historic City Center Camrose

Since the early 1900s Downtown Camrose has been the place to meet your friends and neighbours, shop, dine and be entertained.

	There are more than 270 businesses in City Center Camrose. Antiques to yarn goods and accountants to web page design, you'll find what you want in Downtown Camrose. In late May take in the antique car cruise down 50th Street, and enjoy a drive-in movie. In early June, Main Street is closed to traffic for Jaywalkers Jamboree. One of the largest parades in Western Canada, the Camrose Big Valley Parade kicks off the Big Valley Country Music Jamboree.
In August we celebrate the early history of the city with Camrose Founders Days. Go for an historic walk through the Downtown, the old residential area or the graveyard. Every year a different founder is honoured during the celebrations at Founders Square.
	The look of the more than 100-year old Main Street is changing. The Camrose Main Street Project is restoring some of the 40 older buildings on Main Street bringing them back to a grander style. Removing the aluminum siding and stucco, and replacing missing elements such as elaborate cornices and pressed metal.
