Water and Sewer Service Replacement 54 Street (53 - 54 Avenue) Partially Funded by: Project Profile: This project is a continuation of the work undertaken last fall on the block south. The City began a program of replacing water and sewer services in problem areas. In those cases the mains are in good condition, however the services to property require upgrading or replacement due to a variety of problems. This program has been in place for several years.
City Public Works has determined that 54th Street from 52nd to 54th Avenue is one of the highest priority locations based on the poor condition of the sewer service lines. The City will upgrade the water service at the same time as both lines run in a common service trench.
A temporary water service will be installed to provide water to anyone affected by the water and sewer service replacement.
54th Street will be closed to vehicles for the duration of the construction, approximately 3 weeks. A notice will be given to any properties affected by the construction. Adjacent roadways and lanes will provide an alternative access to homes in the area.
