Partially Funded by: Project Profile: The 2002 City of Camrose -Capital Budget included the roadway reconstruction of 54th Street between 52 and 54 Avenues and 52 Avenue and 53 Avenue's between 53 and 54 Streets. Water and sewer service replacements were not completed on the north block of 54 Street until mid summer 2002. As the City allows at least one freeze / thaw cycle to assist in the settlement the north block will not see paving until the summer of 2003. The roadway project involved the excavation of the existing road base 2002, followed by the installation of new concrete curbs & sidewalks, asphalt paving and boulevard sod work (2003). The City hosted an open house for residents on 54 Street to discuss the local improvement costs, project schedule and get input from property owners about existing problems such as drainage, access issues during construction etc. The north block of 54th Street (53-54 Ave) will be closed to vehicle traffic during the construction. Fortunately back alleys provide an alternative access in these areas. ![]() Engineering: The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department. Contractor: Branco Concrete and Border Paving were awarded contracts for this project in 2002. These contracts will be extended to complete the project. Budget and Funding:
