Project Background:
Century Meadows is a multi staged residential subdivision development located in the southwest corner of Camrose. 211 of the 267 lots have been completely serviced. The majority of these lots have now been sold. In 2003, the final phase of this development will be constructed, servicing the remaining 56 lots. Construction is expected to be completed with the lots available for sale by the end of July 2003.
This phase will complete the development of the Century Meadows area.

Project Profile:
In the spring 2001 the installation of underground utilities to complete the deep servicing was completed. Deep utilities are installed at least one year in advance of any surface improvements such as paving and sidewalks. The majority of trench settlement occurs within the first year of installation. By delaying surface improvements we minimize concrete cracking and "dips" in road surface resulting in a higher quality product for the property purchaser.
The construction of surface improvements (paving & sidewalks, shallow utilities, street lighting etc.) this spring will complete the 30 & 31 Avenue loops in the south west corner of the development (see map). The boulevards in the area will be topsoiled with tree planting in October.

Engineering:
The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department.
Contractor:
Border Paving Ltd., Branco Concrete, D & H Concrete Services Ltd. and McGregor Construction 2000 Ltd. were awarded the contracts for this project.
Budget and Funding:
The budget to complete the surface component of the development is $750,000.00 with funding from City Land Fund Reserve which is supported by lot sales revenue.
Schedule:
Miscellaneous concrete work remains to finish the project and is scheduled for 2004.
