Project Profile:
The primary goal of this project is to rehabilitate the waterproof surface of the reservoir roof surface, a side benefit is that it will provide a new playing surface over the existing reservoir which is suitable for basketball, inline hockey etc. At present water ponds at numerous locations on the existing asphalt surface. Random cracking has also occurred in the asphalt further inhibiting the recreational use.
The new asphalt surfacing will provide a more positive drainage off the roof and a smooth playing surface thus maintaining the recreational intention of this facility.
Engineering:
The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department and Infrastructure Systems Ltd.
Contractor:
Border Paving Ltd. has been awarded the contract for this project.
Budget and Funding:
The project budget is $85,000.00 funded by the City Water System.
Schedule:
Paving was completed by late September.
