Project Profile:

Camrose City Council committed to undertake the roadway reconstruction in this area of Camrose within the next two years.

With this large a commitment by the City of Camrose, Council felt that the bylaw for replacing the curbs, sidewalks and roadway paving as a local improvement must be passed by area residents prior to proceeding with deep utility upgrades (water & sewer) which begun in the fall of 2004 and will continue in 2005.

Roadway improvements will begin in 2005 and continue in 2006, on blocks that had utility upgrades in 2004 / 2005 after allowing at least one year for the majority of trench settlement to occur. By delaying surface improvements we minimize concrete cracking and "dips" in road surface resulting in a higher quality product.

The City hosted an open house for residents on of the area in the spring of 2004 to discuss the local improvement costs, project schedule and get input from property owners about existing problems such as drainage and access issues during construction.
