46 Avenue (56 to 57 Street) and 57 Street (46 to 47 Avenue)

Project Profile:
The 2006 City of Camrose capital budget includes the roadway reconstruction of 46 Avenue between 56 and 57 Street and 57 Street between 46 and 47 Avenue.
46 Avenue between 56 and 57 Street roadway is existing gravel which will have to be regraded and backfilled with road base gravel followed by concrete work and asphalt paving.
57 Street between 46 and 47 Avenue will be fully reconstructed with the installation of concrete curb, gutter, sidewalks and hot mixed asphalt.
The project is subject to a local improvement bylaw. The City will host an open house for residents of the area in the spring of 2006 to discuss the local improvement costs, project schedule and gather input from property owners about existing problems such as drainage, access issues during construction etc.
Adjacent roadways and lanes will provide an alternative access to homes in the area.
Engineering:
The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department.
Contractor:
Border Paving Ltd. has been awarded the contract for the road work.
Joe's Concrete Services Ltd. was awarded the contract for the concrete work.

Schedule:
The Local Improvement By-Law passed third reading at the August 14th Regular Council Meeting.
This project has been postponed until 2007.
