Last Modified Oct 10, 06

Project Profile:

The 2006 City of Camrose Capital Budget included the roadway reconstruction of 56th Street between 46 and 48 Avenues.

This project is subject to a local improvement bylaw. The City will host an open house for residents on 56 Street in the spring of 2006 to discuss the local improvement costs, project schedule and gather input from property owners about existing problems such as drainage, access issues during construction etc.

The roadway project includes the excavation of existing road base and backfill with road base gravel, installation of new concrete curbs & sidewalks, asphalt paving and boulevard landscaping work.

56th Street will be closed to vehicle traffic during construction. Fortunately lanes provide an alternative access in these areas.

The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering Department.

Contractor:

Border Paving Ltd. has been awarded the contract for the road work.
Joe's Concrete Services Ltd. was awarded the contract for the concrete work.

Budget and Funding:

This project is estimated to cost $334,000.

Schedule:

The Local Improvement By-Law passed third reading at the June 26th Regular Council Meeting.
This project has been postponed until 2007.
