Project Profile:
This road construction project involves asphalt planing (grinding) the existing asphalt to
various depths and replacing it with hot mix asphalt.
The asphalt surface on this roadway is in very poor condition, prompting the City to initiate a local improvement
to undertake the road surface with hot mix asphalt.
The project is subject to a local improvement bylaw. The City will host an open house for
residents on 65 Street between Marler Drive and 48 Avenue in the spring of 2006 to discuss the local improvement
costs, project schedule and gather input from property owners about existing problems such as drainage, access
issues during construction etc.
Adjacent roadways and lanes will provide an alternative access to homes in the area.
Engineering:
The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering
Department.
Contractor:
Border Paving Ltd. has been awarded the contract for this project.

Schedule:
Concrete repairs were completed by the end of September.
