2006 component of this project involves the geometric modifications to the curb, gutter & sidewalk.
Re-alignments will provide motorists traveling north
& south through this intersection with a smoother transition including safer truck movements north bound
off 48th Avenue.
Engineering:
The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering
Department and Traffic Solutions Consulting Ltd.
Contractor:
Jo's Concrete Services Ltd. was awarded the contract for the curb and gutter replacement.
Border Paving Ltd. was awarded the contract for the overlay paving.
Budget and Funding:
The cost for this component of the project is $50,000.
Schedule:
Excavation of the existing curb, gutter and sidewalk and installation of the new curb, gutter, sidewalk and concrete
road base was completed by mid June. Paving was completed by mid June. Installation of traffic detection loops,
line markings and landscaping are scheduled for spring 2007.
