50 Street Roadway Reconstruction 53 to 54 Avenue

Project Profile:
The 2008 City of Camrose Capital Budget includes the roadway reconstruction of 50 Street between
53 and 54 Avenue. This project involves full roadway reconstruction with the installation of concrete
curb, gutter, sidewalks and hot mixed asphalt.
The project is subject to a local improvement bylaw. The City will host an open house for residents
of the area in the spring of 2008 to discuss the local improvement costs, project schedule and gather
input from property owners about existing problems such as drainage, access issues during construction etc.
Adjacent roadways and lanes will provide an alternative access to homes in the area.
Engineering:
The design and site supervision of this project will be conducted by the City Engineering
Department.
Contractor:
Joe's Concrete Services Ltd. was awarded the contract for the concrete work. Contractors for the remaining work are yet to be determined.
Budget and Funding:
This project is estimated to cost $265,000.
Schedule:
The Local Improvement By-Law passed it's third and final reading on June 23rd. Scheduling has been determined to avoid
conflict with school schedules. The paving contract is currently being tendered out, and will be submitted to council for
approval on July 14th. This project is scheduled for the summer of 2008.
