Storm Sewer System
Responsibilities
The Utility Section of the Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of the storm sewer system. The Camrose storm sewer system helps to prevent flooding by removing excess rainwater via 17 separate drainage basins that discharge independently into Camrose Creek through the storm sewers.

The system includes more than 50km of pipelines varying in size from 300mm to 2100mm. The majority of the rainwater is transported by gravity into Camrose Creek. Treatment systems such as storm water management ponds remove sediment from the water prior to discharge into the creek.

For more information on the storm sewer system, please contact Jim Kupka, Director of Public Works or Sean Masculak, Superintendent of Utilities at (780) 672-5513 or email us.
