We are currently hiring for a full time By-law Enforcement Officer, a full time Plumbing, Gas, Safety Codes Officer, a full time Facilities Director, a full time Operator 1 for our Water Treatment Plant and 2 full time permanent labour positions with the Utilities Crew and Public Works Crew.

Waterslide Closed

The waterslide at the Aquatic Centre is closed. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Proposed Secondary Suites

Final reading was given to By-law 2596/08 to amend the City of Camrose Land Use Bylaw on July 14, 2008. Follow the link for more information.

Unidirectional Flushing (UDF) Program

The UDF program will begin on approximately July 10, 2008 and will continue for 2-3 months. Water service should not be disrupted during the flushing process. Please follow the link for more details.

Toilet Rebate Program

The City of Camrose will be offering a rebate of $80 to citizens of Camrose who replace an older, high volume toilet with a newer, eligible low-flow model in their home. This offer will be available to the first 150 applicants.

City Council Endorses Canada World Youth Bolivia/Camrose Exchange

The Camrose/Bolivia Canada World Youth Exchange Program begins in Camrose this July. Host families are required for Canadian and Bolivian youth form July 19 until Ocotber 23, 2008. Expose yourself to new food, music and different cultures! Host families receive a financial allowance to defray the cost of taking 2 youth into their home. Camrose Sanitary Landfill Hours

The Camrose Sanitary Landfill will be open late Wednesday nights. Hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. starting May 21st and running through to September 17th.

Camrose to Host 2008 World Junior A Challenge

Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Junior A Hockey League (CJAHL), announced on Thursday, February 21 that Camrose will be the host city for the 2008 World Junior A Challenge, November 2-9, 2008. Check out the press release from Hockey Canada for more information.

Province Provides $3.5 Million for New Performing Arts Centre at Augustana Campus

The Government of Alberta is committing $3.5 million to build a new performing arts centre for the Camrose region. Funding is pledged under the Major Communities Facilities Program.
Funding has also been committed by the City of Camrose, Camrose County and the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus.

Continental Cup of Curling – Coming to the Edgeworth Centre, December 18 – 21, 2008

The Continental Cup is a unique competition, with players competing in men's, women's and mixed events which challenge the skills of the game's premier shot-makers. The top men's and women's curlers from North America are together on the same teams in an international competition against the best players from elsewhere in the world. The Continental Cup brings together 12 of the best curling teams in the world to compete in a unique competition in various curling events.
